Alex and I were returning from one of our superexciting adventures in the city when we got in the elevator in our building with a nice British guy.
"Oh, a baby!" the man exclaimed. "Do you live on the fifth floor?" When I said yes, he said, "You must live right below me."
I grinned sheepishly. "I hope we haven't been keeping you up with his crying."
The man shook his head and waved his hand dismissively. "Oh, it's not him," he said, "it's Wall Street."
He shrugged. "It's actually kind of comforting -- knowing I am not the only one up all night crying."
Well, there's a benefit of having a baby during an economic downturn!
